Unless the Lord builds the house
Psalm 127:1(NIV) Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.
This verse clearly states that without God in our endeavours, our efforts are in vain. Therefore, it's essential to ensure that God is involved in all that we do.
Proverbs 3:5-6(ESV) Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Proverbs 19:21(ESV) Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand.
As builders of our 'house’ we continue to work diligently, while recognizing the need for God’s direction and blessing in our efforts. We labour, but we remember that, unless the Lord builds the house, our labour is in vain.
Proverbs 16:3(NLT) Commit your actions to the LORD, and your plans will succeed.
By acknowledging Him in all our ways, He will guide us and make our paths straight. Unless the LORD builds the house - this means that GOD must approve or permit what we are trying to do. In other words, any attempt will be futile if we fail to include God in our plans. The builders labor in vain - this means without GOD’s help all your efforts to accomplish the task all by yourself, will go in vain.
Therefore, invite God into all your plans, and you will find success.
