Light shines in the darkness for the godly
Psalm 112:4(NLT) reads: Light shines in the darkness for the godly. They are generous, compassionate, and righteous.
Similarly, John 1:5(NIV) states: The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. When the light shines in the darkness, we see ourselves as God sees us.
John 1:9-12(NLT) describes the arrival of this true light: The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He came into the very world he created, but the world didn’t recognize him. He came to his own people, and even they rejected him. But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
Jesus makes a powerful statement in John 8:12(NLT) Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, "I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life."
We have the light of life. We are encircled by, and enfolded in, Jesus - a living beacon the darkness can never extinguish. Allow the word of God to scatter your darkness. The Bible says in Psalm 119:105(NLT) Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.
John 8:12(MSG) reminds us: Jesus once again addressed them: “I am the world’s Light. No one who follows me stumbles around in the darkness. I provide plenty of light to live in.”
I conclude with 1 Peter 2:9(NLT) But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.
