Jesus is the only entrance to God
Exodus 38:18-20 (ERV) “The curtain for the entrance of the courtyard was made from fine linen and blue, purple, and red yarn. Designs were woven into that curtain. The curtain was 20 cubits[a] long and 5 cubits high. It was the same height as the curtains around the courtyard. The curtain was supported by four posts and four bronze bases. The hooks on the posts were made from silver. The tops on the posts were covered with silver, and the curtain rods were also made from silver. All the tent pegs for the Holy Tent and for the curtains around the courtyard were made from bronze.”
Finally, the last item that the builders created was the gate to the Tabernacle, which symbolised God’s desire for as many people to enter as possible. The gate was three colours, each with a special meaning namely:
Purple symbolised Jesus’ royalty as the “King of Kings”. Revelation 19:16 (AMP) “And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name inscribed, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”
Blue symbolised His throne in heaven, as Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father. 1 Peter 3:22 (AMP) “who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God [that is, the place of honour and authority], with [all] angels and authorities and powers made subservient to Him”.
Scarlet red symbolises Jesus’ cleansing blood. Hebrews 9:14 (AMP) “how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal [Holy] Spirit willingly offered Himself unblemished [that is, without moral or spiritual imperfection as a sacrifice] to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works and lifeless observances to serve the ever living God?”
Jesus is the door, the way, the truth, and the life. John 10:9 (AMP) I am the Door; anyone who enters through Me will be saved [and will live forever], and will go in and out [freely], and find pasture (spiritual security)”. Then again Jesus says this in Revelation 3:20 (AMP) “Behold, I stand at the door [of the church] and continually knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him (restore him), and he with Me.”
The detailed craftsmanship and symbolism of the gate to the Tabernacle reflect the builders' skill and dedication and serve as a profound representation of Christ's role in the lives of believers. Each element of the gate, its colours, materials, and design, points to the deeper spiritual truths found in Christ's kingship, His heavenly authority, and His sacrificial love. As the gate stood as the entrance to the Tabernacle, so does Jesus stand as the gateway to a relationship with God, inviting all who seek Him to enter and experience the fullness of life He offers. This gate reminds us that access to God's presence is open to all who walk through it, embracing Christ's salvation and eternal life alone.
