4 July Psalm 65

Year of overflow

Psalm 65:11(ERV) You start the new year with a good harvest. You end the year with many crops.

Psalm 65:11(VOICE) You crown the year with a fruitful harvest; the paths are worn down by carts overflowing with unstoppable growth.

Psalm 65:11(NLT) You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance.

Verse 11 states that He crowns our year with a bountiful harvest! In Hebrew, the word crown means to surround. When the Word says crown, it signifies encircling for protection or attack; to compass about or surround. The word paths mean simply, your goings. The text above indicates that God’s paths drip with fatness. When God says your year is crowned with good, we are in a season of harvest!

God’s desire is for you to experience His goodness in such a way that even the most difficult experiences from the previous year, or even the last several years, will begin to turn around.

Psalm 65:11(KJ21) Thou crownest the year with Thy goodness, and Thy paths drip with fatness.

God does not only crown the year with His goodness, but His paths also drip with abundance. This speaks of fertility. The word rendered drip means to properly distil; to let something fall gently, as the rain or the dew falls to the earth. The idea is that wherever God goes marching through the earth, fertility, beauty, and abundance seem to drip, distil or fall gently along His path. God promises that He will cause His bounty, prosperity, satisfaction, joy, and kindness to overshadow and crown this entire year.
