God will turn the tables
This Psalm of David begins with a prayer for safety and rescue from his enemies.
Psalms 64:1(ESV) Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint; preserve my life from dread of the enemy.
David then describes the lies, hateful words, plots, and schemes of his enemies. However, God will turn the tables on them. Instead of benefitting from their scheme, they will be exposed.
Psalms 64:7-9(ESV) But God shoots his arrow at them; they are wounded suddenly. They are brought to ruin, with their own tongues turned against them; all who see them will wag their heads. Then all mankind fears; they tell what God has brought about and ponder what he has done.
Those who follow God have good reason to celebrate their relationship with the Lord. Psalm 64:10(AMP) The righteous will rejoice in the LORD and take refuge in Him; All the upright in heart will glory and offer praise.
2 Thessalonians 1:6-8(ERV) God will do what is right. He will punish those who are causing you trouble. And he will bring relief to you who are troubled. He will bring it to you and to us when the Lord Jesus comes from heaven for all to see, together with his powerful angels. He will come with burning fire to punish those who don’t know God—those who refuse to accept the Good News about our Lord Jesus.
