WEEK 5 – OBEDIENCE: “God Shows Up Where We Do What He Says.”
“Anyone who loves Me will obey My teaching. My Father will love them, and We will come to them and make Our home with them.” — John 14:23 (NIV)
Obedience builds God’s dwelling place. Every act of obedience opens a door for His Presence. When we align our actions with His Word, Heaven finds a resting place on earth.
Practical Application:
• Ask daily: “Lord, what are You saying—and what do You want me to do about it?”
• Start with small obediences; they prepare you for larger ones.
• Keep a “yes” in your spirit, even before you know the assignment.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, teach me to love Your commands. Please help me to obey quickly and completely. Let my life be a place where You are pleased to dwell. Amen.

DAY 1 — Obedience Is Love in Action
Scripture: John 14:15 (NIV) “If you love me, keep my commands.”
Focus Thought: Obedience is the proof of our love for Jesus.
Jesus makes obedience deeply personal. In John 14:15, He does not present obedience as a burden or religious duty, but as a response of love. Obedience is not about rule-keeping; it is about relationship. When we obey Jesus, we are responding to His love with trust, devotion, and surrender.
Love that remains only in words is incomplete. True love expresses itself through action, and in our relationship with Jesus, obedience becomes love in motion. Every act of obedience declares that His voice matters, His wisdom can be trusted, and His ways are life-giving.
At times, obedience may challenge our comfort or understanding. Yet delayed obedience often reveals areas where fear, pride, or distraction has taken root. Jesus invites us to obey not because He wants control, but because He desires our freedom and growth. As we respond promptly and willingly, our love for Him deepens and our hearts remain aligned with His will.
Obedience strengthens intimacy. Each “yes” to Jesus reinforces our relationship with Him and keeps our hearts sensitive to the Holy Spirit's leading.
Action for Today: Ask the Holy Spirit honestly: “Is there any instruction from You that I have delayed obeying?” Listen quietly and be willing to respond.
Prayer: Jesus, I love You and I want my life to reflect that love. Show me where obedience is needed and give me a willing heart to respond. Help me to obey You promptly and joyfully. Amen.
Reflection Question: What is one step of obedience God is highlighting to you today?
Journal Prompt: Write about the instruction the Holy Spirit brought to your attention. What has caused the delay, and what would it look like to take that step of obedience today?
