28 July Psalm 89

God is always loving and reliable

Psalm 89:1-2(AMP) I will sing of the goodness and lovingkindness of the LORD forever; With my mouth I will make known Your faithfulness from generation to generation. For I have said, “Goodness and lovingkindness will be built up forever; In the heavens You will establish Your faithfulness.”

Psalm 89:14(AMP) Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Lovingkindness and truth go before You.

“The divine righteousness and justice are manifest in the victory over chaos, and steadfast love and faithfulness in the trustworthy and reliable rule over chaos. The opening claims in the Psalm (v1&2) are rooted in this confession about God’s cosmic victory over the chaos, both then and now.” - W. Dennis Tucker, Jr. (www.workingpreacher.org)

God is always loving and reliable. He does not change in His care and commitments. He is the same forever. Indeed, forever is one of the frequently repeated words in this Psalm. Regardless of how we may feel during our present crisis, God remains the same. God is always reliable, trustworthy, and unchanging.

Lovingkindness is God’s committed love to His people. God’s lovingkindness is His grace, mercy, and love all mixed into one. God loves you beyond your actions. He is faithful, even when you are not.

Psalm 103:8(AMP) The LORD is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in compassion and lovingkindness.

No matter where you are with the Lord today, His lovingkindness is pouring over you.
