All Scripture is God-breathed

2 Timothy 3:14-17(NIV) But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. The Message Translation says: Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another - showing us the truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way. Through the Word, we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us.All Scripture is God-breathed describes the Bible’s nature as God’s literal Word, given to men by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. This divine inspiration is the supernatural work of God’s Holy Spirit. The Bible is what God has said – and He is the God who does not lie. His Word must be believed, accepted, and obeyed. Scripture is the final authority because it is what the Almighty, all-wise God has said.It is useful for:- Teaching, Psalm 119:105(ESV) Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.- Rebuking, 2 Timothy 4:2(NLT) Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching.Proverbs 15:31(NASB) He whose ear listens to the life-giving reproof will dwell among the wise.- Correcting, Psalm 119:11(NIV) I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.Proverbs 3:11-12(NKJV) My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, nor detest His correction; for whom the LORD loves He corrects, just as a father the son in whom he delights.- Training in righteousness, Romans 15:4(NLT) Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God's promises to be fulfilled.Psalm 19:7(ESV) The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple;I conclude with Romans 15:4(NIV) For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.
