DAY 6 — Faith Remembers God’s Faithfulness
Psalm 77:11 (NIV) I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.
Focus Thought: Remembering past victories fuels future faith
God knows how easily we forget. That is why Scripture so often calls God’s people to remember. Remembering is not nostalgia — it is a spiritual discipline. It is the deliberate act of bringing God’s faithfulness back into the centre of your awareness so that your present fears do not erase your past testimonies.
When we forget what God has done, we begin to doubt what He can do. But when we remember His works, our faith is strengthened. The psalmist says, “I will remember the deeds of the Lord.” He is not waiting for his emotions to improve — he is choosing to remind his soul of truth.
Memory is a powerful weapon against discouragement. When anxiety says, “What if this never changes?” remembrance replies, “But look at what God has already done.” When fear says, “This is impossible,” testimony says, “It has never been impossible for God.”
God’s past faithfulness is evidence of His present reliability and His future goodness. Every breakthrough, every answered prayer, every rescue, every provision is a stone of remembrance — a witness that says, “God is trustworthy.”
That is why the enemy always tries to attack our memory — because a believer who remembers is a believer who expects. Faith grows strong in the soil of remembrance.
What God has done before is proof of what He can do again.
When you remember, you are not living in the past — you are strengthening your future. You are telling your heart, “The same God who carried me then is with me now.”
And that is how courage is reborn.
Action for Today: Write a testimony of God’s faithfulness.
Reflection Question: How did remembering increase your expectation?
Prayer: Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness in my life. I choose to remember and trust You again today. Amen.
Journal Prompt:
Which past victory encouraged me most today?
