21 May 2024 - Psalm 21

Rise up, O Lord, in all your power

Psalm 21 is the prayer of thanksgiving for the victory granted by God in answer to the prayer in Psalm 20 for the king’s victory in battle.

Psalm 21 is sometimes referred to as one of the ‘royal Psalms’ because its subject matter involves the king of Israel and his military activities.

Psalm 21:13(NLT) reads: Rise up, O LORD, in all your power.

Isaiah 52:2(NLT) Rise from the dust, O Jerusalem. Sit in a place of honor.

The definition of rise is to move from a lower position to a higher one; come or go up; an instance of becoming higher.

Today you will rise above the heaviness and darkness and brokenness. Let God have access to your heart. Let Him love you. Let your walls down. Ask Him to show you how He sees you. Just like a hot air balloon lifting up, off the ground, imagine yourself rising above the darkness.

Isaiah 60:1-3(ESV) Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you. For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the LORD will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you. And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.

Proverbs 24:16(ESV) For the righteous falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked stumble in times of calamity.

I conclude with 2 Chronicles 6:41(AMP) “Now then arise, O LORD God, to Your resting place, You and the ark of Your strength and power. Let Your priests, O LORD God, be clothed with salvation and let Your godly ones rejoice in goodness.
