DAY 2 — Be Still and Listen
Scripture: Psalm 46:10 (NIV) “He says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.’”
Focus: Intimacy grows when we slow down enough to hear.
Stillness is not inactivity—it is intentional attentiveness to God. In a world filled with noise, speed, and constant demands, God gently calls us to stop, breathe, and remember who He is. “Be still” is not a suggestion; it is an invitation into trust—trust that God is at work even when we are not striving.
When we slow down, we notice what is happening inside us. Restlessness, fear, distraction, or even hidden anxieties often surface in silence. Stillness has a way of revealing the actual condition of our hearts. Yet this is not something to fear. God does not expose our inner world to shame us, but to heal us and draw us closer to Himself.
It is in this quiet space that God makes Himself known—not through noise or pressure, but through presence. As we quiet our hearts, we become more aware of His nearness, His peace, and His gentle guidance. Knowing God deeply begins when we learn to quiet our hearts enough to listen, to wait, and to rest in who He is.
God is exalted when we trust Him enough to be still, surrendering control and acknowledging that He alone is God.
*Action for Today:* Sit in silence for 5–10 minutes before speaking a word in prayer.
Resist the urge to fill the moment with words. Acknowledge God’s presence and listen.
Prayer: Lord, teach me to be still before You. Quiet my heart, calm my thoughts, and help me recognise Your presence. I choose to trust You and to listen for Your voice. Amen.
Reflection Question: What did stillness reveal about your inner world today?
Journal Prompt: Describe what you noticed during your time of silence. What thoughts, emotions, or distractions surfaced? How might God be inviting you to trust Him more deeply through stillness?
