WEEK 1 – HUNGER: “Want More of God”

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” — Matthew 5:6 (NIV)

Hunger is the doorway to encounter. God fills those who long for Him — not the satisfied, but the seeking. A heart that desires more of His Presence will never be denied. When we stop hungering, we start drifting toward routine. Revival always begins with renewed hunger for God.

Practical Application:

• Begin each morning with this prayer: “Lord, I want more of You than anything else today.”

• Fast from distractions — not only food, but habits that dull your spiritual appetite.

• Keep a “Presence Journal” — record moments when you sense God’s nearness or prompting.

Prayer: Lord, stir my heart with holy hunger. Let my soul thirst for You as dry ground longs for rain. Fill every empty place with Your Presence and let my deepest satisfaction be found in knowing You. Amen.

*DAY 1 — Ask God for Fresh Hunger*

*Scripture: Psalm 63:1 (NIV)* “You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.”

*Focus Thought*

*Hunger begins with desire.*

Spiritual hunger always starts with an awakening of desire. David does not come to God out of duty or habit—he comes driven by longing. His soul thirsts. His whole being yearns. This is not routine religion; it is a deep cry for a living encounter.

David writes these words while in a dry and challenging place, yet his most incredible hunger is not for relief or comfort—it is for God Himself. His desperation reveals a powerful truth: only God can satisfy the deepest thirst of the human soul.

We live in a world filled with noise, comfort, entertainment, and endless distraction. And yet, many hearts remain spiritually dry and parched. Success, activity, and busyness cannot replace intimacy with God. Hunger is heaven’s invitation—drawing us closer into a deeper relationship with Him.

You will always move in the direction of your strongest desire. When God becomes your greatest longing, everything else finds its proper place. Spiritual hunger is not something you force or manufacture—it is something you ask God to awaken. And God delights in answering that prayer.

*Action for Today*

Pray this prayer aloud—slowly and sincerely: “Lord, I want more of You than anything else today.”

Let these words shape the posture of your heart throughout the day.

*Reflection Question*

What would change in your life if seeking God became your highest priority?

*Prayer:* Lord, awaken fresh hunger in my soul. I do not want to live spiritually dry in a land of abundance. Teach my heart to thirst for You above every other desire. Let seeking You become my daily pursuit. Amen.

*Journal Prompt*

What currently competes most with my desire for God?
