Where God guides, He provides
Deuteronomy 29:5-9 (TLB) ” For forty years God has led you through the wilderness, yet your clothes haven’t become old, and your shoes haven’t worn out! The reason he hasn’t let you settle down to grow grain for bread or grapes for wine and strong drink is so that you would realize that it is the Lord your God who has been caring for you. “When we came here, King Sihon of Heshbon and King Og of Bashan came out against us in battle, but we destroyed them, and took their land and gave it to the tribes of Reuben and Gad and to the half-tribe of Manasseh as their inheritance. Therefore, obey the terms of this covenant so that you will prosper in everything you do”.
If we trust God and include Him in every part of our lives, He promises to guide us. To experience God's guidance, we must let go of our desires and focus on following His plan. The key to understanding God’s will in any situation is to set aside what we want and dedicate ourselves to seeking and obeying His direction. God showed His faithfulness and power by providing for the Jews in the wilderness. Deuteronomy 8:3-4 (NIV) “He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. Your clothes did not wear out and your feet did not swell during these forty years”.
*God also showed His faithfulness and power by protecting the Jews in the wilderness.*
Deuteronomy 29:7-8 (NIV) “When you reached this place, Sihon king of Heshbon and Og king of Bashan came out to fight against us, but we defeated them. We took their land and gave it as an inheritance to the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh. Notably King Solomon says this in Proverbs 30:5 (AMP) “Every word of God is tested and refined [like silver]; He is a shield to those who trust and take refuge in Him.
*God promised Israel prosperity if they stayed obedient to Him.*
Deuteronomy 29:9 (NIV) “Carefully follow the terms of this covenant, so that you may prosper in everything you do”. We often miss God’s guidance because we’re too focused on doing things our way and forget to pause and ask Him what He wants for us. Sometimes, we get so stuck in our routines that it takes a crisis to finally pay attention to Him and discover His plan for our lives. If you want God to guide you, stop, ask Him for help, trust He will respond, and patiently listen for what He has to say.
In conclusion, God’s guidance is always accompanied by His provision and faithfulness. Just as He cared for the Israelites in the wilderness, providing food, clothing, protection, and victory, He promised to care for us when we trust and obey Him. His Word is dependable, His plans are perfect, and His blessings follow those who walk in His ways. If we commit to seeking His will and relying on Him, we will experience the abundance, direction, and peace that only He can provide. Let us trust in God's guidance, obey His commands, and rest in the assurance that where He leads, He also provides.
