DAY 1 Invite the Holy Spirit to Search Your Heart

*Scripture:* Psalm 139:23–24 (NIV) “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”

*Focus Thought: Holiness begins with honesty before God.*

True holiness does not begin with self-effort or outward behaviour—it begins with an honest heart before God. David invites the Lord to search him, not to condemn him, but to lead him. This is a prayer of trust, surrender, and humility.

God already knows our hearts, yet He waits for our permission to examine them. When we open ourselves to the Holy Spirit, He gently reveals attitudes, thoughts, and patterns that do not align with God’s ways. This is not exposure for shame, but inspection for healing.

Holiness grows where honesty lives. When we stop hiding and start surrendering, God begins to reshape us from the inside out. The Spirit searches not to wound us, but to guide us into “the way everlasting.” Freedom always follows truth.

*Action for Today*

Pray Psalm 139:23–24 slowly and sincerely. Pause after each phrase. Allow the Holy Spirit time to speak. Do not rush. Let God’s light do its work.

*Reflection Question* What did the Holy Spirit bring to the surface as you prayed?

*Prayer* Holy Spirit, I invite You to search my heart. Reveal anything in me that does not please You. I choose honesty over hiding and surrender over resistance. Lead me in Your everlasting way. Amen.

*Journal Prompt* What areas of my heart is God gently inviting me to surrender or realign today?
