Is anything too hard for the Lord?

Matthew 19:26(NKJV) But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

This verse from Matthew speaks to God’s omnipotence, emphasising His absolute power - a theme resonating throughout Scripture.

Genesis 18:14(NKJV) reminds us: "Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son." Despite Sarah and Abraham's doubts, God fulfilled His promise.

When Job answered God in his distress, he proclaimed in Job 42:2(NKJV) "I know that You can do everything, And that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You.

Jesus, acknowledging the Father’s might, says in part of Mark 14:36(NKJV) "Abba, Father, all things are possible for You.

And Paul, drawing strength from Christ, affirms in Philippians 4:13(NKJV) I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

We worship a God who transforms impossibilities into tangible realities. He's the one who can part oceans, resurrect the dead, heal the congenitally disabled, and feed thousands with minimal resources. What wouldn't He do for those He dearly loves? His promise stands unwavering: ‘Nothing is impossible with Him.’ Our duty lies in believing in this promise.

John Piper once said: “There is no disease, addiction, demon, bad habit, fault, vice, weakness, temper, moodiness, pride, self-pity, strife, jealousy, perversion, greed, or laziness that Christ will not overcome as the enemy of his honor.”

The power to achieve the seemingly impossible stems from God. Such miracles occur for His glory and for our well-being.

I leave you with these words from John 10:10(NKJV) The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
