DAY 5 — Christ in You Is the Hope of Glory

Colossians 1:27 (NIV) "To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory."

Focus Thought: One of the greatest mysteries revealed in the New Testament is not merely that God is with us, it is that Christ lives within us.

For centuries, God's presence was associated with specific places. His glory filled the Tabernacle. His glory filled the Temple. His glory appeared on mountains. His glory appeared through fire, clouds, and supernatural manifestations. But through Jesus Christ, something extraordinary happened. God chose to make His dwelling place within His people.

Paul calls this: "Christ in you, the hope of glory."

This is one of the most profound truths a believer can understand. The Christian life is not primarily about trying harder to become better. It is about allowing Christ who lives within you to express His life through you. Hosting God's presence begins with recognising that God's Spirit already lives within every believer. Many Christians spend their lives searching for God somewhere far away when He is already living within them.

The awareness of Christ within changes everything. When you face weakness, Christ within is your strength. When you face fear, Christ within is your courage. When you face temptation, Christ within is your victory. When you face uncertainty, Christ within is your wisdom. The glory of God is not meant to remain hidden inside of you.

God's desire is that His life becomes visible through your life. This is why Jesus said: Matthew 5:16 (NIV) In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

The light is not your own. It is His life shining through you. Hosting God's presence means learning to cooperate with the Holy Spirit throughout your day. Instead of asking: "What would I naturally do?" You begin asking: "How would Christ respond through me?" Christ in you changes: How you speak. How you treat people. How you handle pressure. How you respond to conflict. How you approach opportunities.

The more surrendered you become, the more visible Christ becomes. Many believers think God's glory is something distant and unattainable. But Paul reveals that the hope of glory is already within you because Christ is within you. God's goal is not simply to visit you occasionally. His goal is to live through you continually. Every act of kindness. Every word of encouragement. Every moment of obedience. Every expression of love. Becomes an opportunity for Christ's glory to be revealed through your life.

Hosting God's presence means allowing Jesus to become increasingly visible while you become increasingly surrendered. The world desperately needs to see Jesus. And God's chosen method is to reveal His Son through His people. Christ in you truly is the hope of glory.

Galatians 2:20 (NIV) "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me."

The Christian life reaches its greatest fulfilment when people no longer see merely us—they begin to see Christ through us.

"The glory of God is revealed when Christ is fully expressed through a surrendered life." — Watchman Nee

Action for Today: Throughout the day, consciously ask: "Lord Jesus, how do You want to express Your life through me right now?" Allow Him to guide your words, attitudes, and actions.

Reflection Question: Where did Christ's character become visible through your life today?

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for living within me. Help me to become more aware of Your presence and more surrendered to Your leading. Let Your love, grace, wisdom, and power flow through my life. May others encounter You through me. Amen.

Journal Prompt: What area of your life needs greater surrender so that Christ can be more fully expressed through you?
