“All learning essentially boils down to self-improvement. Whether you’re improving an academic skill, picking up a new hobby or trying to expand your business, your efforts lead to meaningful personal growth. Your knowledge is an investment because it helps you become a more well-rounded person. It helps you connect with others. It gives you the confidence you need to succeed in other areas of your life.” - Scott Lee

The fundamental meaning of the Greek word for disciple as used in the Bible is a learner. Discipleship means a lifelong learning process.

Matthew 11:29(NIV) Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,

The apostle Paul was open to learning even as an adult. Read what he says in Philippians 4:11-12(NLT) Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.

Proverbs 19:8(GNT). Do yourself a favour and learn all you can; then remember what you learn and you will prosper.

Proverbs 4:13(GNT) Always remember what you have learned. Your education is your life - guard it well.

Proverbs 18:15(ESV) An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.

Abraham Lincoln once said: - “I do not think much of a man who is not wiser today than he was yesterday.”

“Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow.” - Anthony D'Angelo

Proverbs 9:9(ESV) Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.

Take a decision today, to master a new skill as one of your new year’s commitments.
