DAY 5 — Follow the Promptings of the Holy Spirit

*Scripture:* Galatians 5:16 (NIV) “So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.”

*Focus Thought: Hunger responds quickly to God’s voice.*

Spiritual hunger is not passive—it is responsive. When we are hungry for God, we become sensitive to the Holy Spirit's leading. To walk by the Spirit means to live in step with Him, allowing His guidance to shape our decisions, responses, and attitudes throughout the day.

The Holy Spirit often speaks quietly—through a gentle nudge, a thought, a conviction, or a sense of direction. When we ignore these promptings, our spiritual sensitivity dulls. But when we respond quickly in obedience, our hunger deepens and our relationship with God grows stronger.

Following the Spirit helps us overcome the pull of the flesh. Instead of being driven by impulse, habit, or emotion, we learn to be led by God’s presence within us. Hunger keeps us listening. Obedience keeps us aligned.

A hungry heart does not argue with God’s voice—it responds. Each act of obedience strengthens our spiritual awareness and draws us closer to Him.

*Action for Today:* Ask this question throughout the day—slowly and sincerely: “Holy Spirit, what are You leading me to do right now?”

Pause and listen. Be willing to obey, even in small things.

Reflection Question: What promptings did you sense from the Holy Spirit today?
