5 February 2024 - The Lord is my Keeper

Psalm 121:5(KJV) The Lord is thy keeper: The Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.

God is always willing and able to help us. He desires to help us, but the choice is yours. Are you afraid? No matter what is causing you to feel fearful, remind yourself: The Lord is my helper and keeper.

Genesis 2:15(ESV) When God placed Adam and Eve in the garden, here is what he said. “The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it.”

It is God’s covenant promise with His people, starting with Adam and Eve and on through every covenant He makes, that He will be the covenant keeper and the keeper of His people!

Isaiah 41:10(NIV) So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Romans 8:31(NIV) What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? The Lord as our Keeper is based on the 15 Hebrew words of the Aaronic Blessing translated to this in Numbers 6:24-26(NLT) May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favour and give you his peace.

As you walk the journey ahead, let the central message be: The LORD is your keeper. Psalm 121:7-8(NLT) The Lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.

• He keeps us in peace - Isaiah 26:3(NLT) You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!

• He keeps us from falling - Jude 24-25(NLT) Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault. All glory to him who alone is God, our Saviour through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are his before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time! Amen.

• He keeps us in His way - Psalm 91:11(NKJV) For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. • When God is our Keeper, we have everything we need, in Him. Even when life gets difficult, we survive and press on because He will keep us. Our role is to cling to His word, embrace His promises, and follow Him with all our hearts.

The Lord is my keeper. He will keep me today and tomorrow and all the days of my life. He will keep me when I walk through the valley of the shadow of death.
