4 February Hebrews 4

Be diligent to enter God’s rest

Hebrews 4:11(ESV) Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.

We read in the scripture that Israel fell from the promised rest of God because of disobedience of unbelief. And the same thing can happen to any one of us. To keep it from happening we must … Let us therefore strive to enter God’s rest!

Hebrews 2:1(NIV) We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.

Hebrews 2:3(ESV) how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was declared at first by the Lord, and it was attested to us by those who heard,

Hebrews 3:8(ESV) do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness,

Hebrews 3:12(ESV) Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God.

Hebrews 3:14(ESV) For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end.

Hebrews 4:1(NIV) Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it.

Your life is a daily devotion to God, keep on trusting Him, serving Him, saying no to sin, and holding on to the promise of enteral rest, spending eternity with God. Therefore, be diligent to enter God’s rest.

I conclude with: “Normal Christian life is aware of the fearful danger of unbelief, but does not live paralyzed or terrorized by it. It lives in faith.” –John Piper
