DAY 7 — Zeal Fuels a Life of Purpose

Titus 2:11–14 (NIV) “For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.”

Focus Thought: God does not ignite passion in us merely to make us feel spiritually alive. His fire always moves us toward purpose. Titus says that Jesus redeemed and purified a people who are His very own, “eager to do what is good.” Grace produces eagerness. When we remember what Jesus has done for us, service stops being merely an obligation. Gratitude begins producing willingness.

A heart touched deeply by grace asks, “Lord, how can my life serve Your purposes?” This is where zeal becomes mission. God may stir your heart for prayer, discipleship, evangelism, serving families, helping the poor, strengthening young people, encouraging leaders, supporting missions, teaching Scripture, or simply faithfully representing Jesus in your workplace. Your calling may look different from someone else's. Do not confuse zeal with doing everything. Zeal is not frantic activity. It is wholehearted devotion to whatever God has entrusted to you.

Hosting His Presence helps us distinguish between busyness and purpose. We do not want simply to fill our schedules with religious activity. We want our lives aligned with what matters to God. This week we have seen that zeal flows from His Presence, must be guarded, needs love, produces diligence, resists lukewarmness, and encourages others. Now bring your passion back to God's purposes. Ask Him: “Lord, what do You want the fire in me to accomplish?” Your life is too valuable to spend on spiritual apathy. You belong to Jesus. Let His grace awaken eagerness again. Let His Presence ignite purpose. And let your response become: “Lord, here I am. Whatever You have entrusted to me, I want to do it wholeheartedly.”

Action for Today Offer your gifts, time, energy, and passion to God's purposes again.

Reflective Question: What Kingdom purpose did God reignite within you this week?

Prayer: Lord, direct my passion toward Your purposes. Make me eager and faithful in everything You have called me to do. Amen.

Journal Prompt: What purpose is God reigniting in me?
