28 November 2023 - Do I need a breakthrough?

We all get to a point where we seriously need a breakthrough. Here are pointers of how to know when you need that breakthrough:

When you experience opposition or a problem The moment David became king, the enemy came in full force against him. David became king, entered God’s promise for him and immediately experienced opposition. In times like this, we need a breakthrough. 1 Chronicles 14:8(NIV) When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over all Israel, they went up in full force to search for him, but David heard about it and went out to meet them.

When you need supernatural help In our most difficult times, we find ourselves in a situation where we need a supernatural intervention from God. We come to a point where we cannot do it on our own. Here David was in a situation where he needed God’s supernatural intervention. He knows he cannot do it on his own. He needed God to help. He knew if he was to go into battle without the help of God, he could lose the battle. He therefore inquired from God whether he should attack the Philistines. 1 Chronicles 14:9-10(NIV) Now the Philistines had come and raided the Valley of Rephaim; so David inquired of God: “Shall I go and attack the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hands?” The LORD answered him, “Go, I will deliver them into your hands.”

When you are afraid to do what you believe deep down you really ought to do, you are in need of a breakthrough.

When you need guidance David needed guidance from God. Should I fight or not? He needed direction from God. He knew if he did not enquire from God, he could mess it up. When we need a breakthrough, we don’t have all the answers and don’t always know what to do. In such times we have to rely on God and require direction from God. Psalm 32:8(NIV) I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.

Matthew 13:11-15(MSG) He replied, “You’ve been given insight into God’s kingdom. You know how it works. Not everybody has this gift, this insight; it hasn’t been given to them. Whenever someone has a ready heart for this, the insights and understandings flow freely. But if there is no readiness, any trace of receptivity soon disappears. That’s why I tell stories: to create readiness, to nudge the people toward a welcome awakening. In their present state they can stare till doomsday and not see it, listen till they’re blue in the face and not get it. I don’t want Isaiah’s forecast repeated all over again: Your ears are open but you don’t hear a thing. Your eyes are awake but you don’t see a thing. The people are stupid! They stick their fingers in their ears so they won’t have to listen; They screw their eyes shut so they won’t have to look, so they won’t have to deal with me face-to-face and let me heal them.
