DAY 6 — Surrender in Difficult Seasons

Scripture: Romans 8:28 (NIV) “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Focus Thought: Even hardship becomes holy ground when surrendered.

Difficult seasons often test the depth of our surrender. When life feels uncertain, painful, or overwhelming, trusting God does not come easily. Yet Romans 8:28 reminds us that God is at work in all things—not just the good or comfortable moments, but even in hardship, loss, and struggle.

Surrender in difficult seasons does not mean denying pain or pretending everything is fine. It means choosing to trust God’s character when His purposes are not yet clear. As we place our challenges in His hands, hardship becomes a place of transformation rather than defeat. God uses pressure to shape our faith, refine our character, and deepen our dependence on Him.

When we surrender our struggles to God, we allow Him to turn suffering into sacred ground. In these moments, God often draws us closer, teaching us to rely on His strength rather than our own. Over time, we begin to see that even our trials are not wasted—they become part of His redemptive work in our lives.

Surrender anchors our hearts in hope, reminding us that God’s purpose is greater than our pain and that His work in us continues, even when the journey is difficult.

Action for Today: Bring every challenge you are facing before God. Ask Him to use each one to deepen your dependence on Him and to shape you according to His purpose.

Prayer: Lord, I surrender this season to You. Help me to trust You in the midst of difficulty and to believe that You are at work for my good. Strengthen my faith and draw me closer to You through every challenge I face. Amen.

Reflection Question: How is God shaping you through your current challenges?

Journal Prompt: Write about the challenges you are facing right now. Where do you sense God inviting you to trust Him more deeply? How might He be using this season to grow your faith?
