26 September Psalm 149

26 September Psalm 149

Psalm 149:1(NIV) Praise the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of his faithful people.

Psalm 96:1-2(NIV) Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth. Sing to the LORD, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day.

Psalms 98:1(ESV) Oh sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things! His right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him.

New means original, fresh, one of a kind, and never seen before, or, never heard before.

Isaiah 42:9-10(ESV) Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I now declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them.” Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise from the end of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that fills it, the coastlands and their inhabitants.

God loves it when we express spontaneous and unrehearsed praise and thanks to Him. Singing a new song unto the Lord is the natural reaction of an individual who is newly saved and transformed by the Lord.

Psalms 40:3(ESV) He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the LORD.

Today, I hope that we will be awakened to a new song that declares God's promises over our future or, perhaps, to a 'renewed song' that reminds us of God’s faithfulness in our past. Whether reflecting on our past, living in our present, or looking to our future, He is great and greatly to be praised!
