DAY 7 — Faith Opens the Door for God’s Power
Matthew 17:20 (NIV) He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.
Focus Thought: Even small, sincere faith can move mountains
Jesus makes something very clear: it is not the size of your faith that moves mountains — it is the object of your faith. The power is not in your faith; the power is in your God. Even faith as small as a mustard seed, when placed in the hands of an all-powerful God, becomes unstoppable.
We often think we need “more faith” before God can act. But Scripture shows us that God is not waiting for big faith — He is looking for real faith. Sincere faith. Dependent faith. Faith that says, “Lord, I don’t have much, but I place what I have in You.”
Mountains represent obstacles that seem immovable — long-standing problems, impossible situations, entrenched patterns, overwhelming circumstances. Jesus teaches that faith does not negotiate with mountains, fear them, or work around them. Faith speaks to them. It confronts them with the authority of God’s Word.
Faith is not confidence in yourself. It is confidence in God’s power and God’s character. That is why small faith in a great God is infinitely more powerful than great confidence in yourself.
Often, God allows us to feel weak so we will learn to trust Him rather than our own strength. When you bring even a small, trembling, honest faith to God, you are not limited by its size — because God is not limited.
It is not your faith that moves the mountain. It is God responding to faith.
Faith does not look at the mountain and say, “I am strong.” Faith looks at God and says, “You are strong.”
And when God is trusted, nothing remains impossible.
Action for Today: Bring one “mountain” to God and declare Matthew 17:20 over it.
Reflection Question: What mountain is God inviting you to confront?
Prayer: Lord, I trust You with this mountain. Nothing is impossible with You. Amen.
Journal Prompt: What step of faith is God calling me to take next?
WEEKLY DECLARATION
I walk by faith and not by sight. I trust God’s character, obey His Word, and speak His promises. My faith welcomes God’s presence and prepares the way for His power.
Nothing is impossible with God.
Weekly outward application: Ask 3 people in your work environment or school about something that they are trusting God for. Pray with them and set reminders on your phone to continue to pray and stand in faith until they come back and testify of the breakthrough.
