Seize the day
Luke 9:62(MSG) Jesus said, “No procrastination. No backward looks. You can’t put God’s kingdom off till tomorrow. Seize the day.”
“That’s the first key to a fresh start in your life too: Whatever you’re going to do, do it now. Don’t say, “Next year I’m going to make a fresh start” or “Next month I’m going to make some changes” or “Tomorrow I’m going to make that a priority.” It’s now or never. Seize the moment!” – Rick Warren
Ephesians 5:15-17(AMP) Therefore see that you walk carefully , not as the unwise, but as wise , making the very most of your time , because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish and thoughtless, but understand and firmly grasp what the will of the Lord is.
Carpe Diem, the Latin phrase for seize the day, means pluck the day, as in the plucking of fruit – enjoy the sweetness.
Spend your life on the things that matter. Invest your life wisely. Make the most of your life – don’t waste it, make it count.
James 4:13-14(AMP) Come now , you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and carry on our business and make a profit.” Yet you do not know about what may happen in your life tomorrow. You are merely a vapor that is visible for a little while and then vanishes .
Psalm 90:12(TLB) Teach us to number our days and recognize how few they are; help us to spend them as we should.
Ecclesiastes 11:6(NLT) Plant your seed in the morning and keep busy all afternoon, for you don’t know if profit will come from one activity or another—or maybe both.
2 Corinthians 6:2(NLT) For God says, “At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.” Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation. What opportunities do you need to seize today? Take advantage of them while they’re still available. Take advantage of the opportunities that God puts in your life.
“Some people spend their whole lives waiting for their ship to come. But God isn’t waiting for your ship to come in. He’s waiting for you to sail your ship out of the harbour.” – Rick Warren
The Bible urges us to seize the moment and act now. To live a life with unfulfilled dreams is a tragedy. Ships aren’t made for the harbour. They’re made to set sail.
So, are you ready to set sail?
