My soul, relax! The Lord is caring for you
Psalm 116:7(NIV) Return to your rest, my soul, for the LORD has been good to you. What stood out for me when reading this Psalm was verse 7, Return to your rest, my soul. The ERV version says: My soul, relax! The LORD is caring for you. Isn't this powerful? Relax because the Lord is caring for you. The GNT says: Be confident, my heart, because the LORD has been good to me. The MSG says: I said to myself, 'Relax and rest. GOD has showered you with blessings. Soul, you’ve been rescued from death; Eye, you’ve been rescued from tears; And you, Foot, were kept from stumbling.'"
When your heart is anxious, when you're worried or concerned about something, or simply exhausted, it is comforting to hear that the Lord is caring for you.
This is the only place our souls can find rest amid the turmoil of this world, amidst trials and challenges - to turn to God, for He cares for you.
I conclude with 1 Peter 5:6–7(ESV) Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because He cares for you.
