Don't get tired of doing good

2 Thessalonians 3:13(NLT) As for the rest of you, dear brothers and sisters, never get tired of doing good. Galatians 6:9-10(MSG) So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time, we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith.

So often, people fail to appreciate our acts of kindness. We do good with the best intentions, aiming to value and appreciate others, but not everyone will reciprocate the same sentiment.

I remember a time when I had around 120 people reporting to me at a company where I worked. Each month, we would give all staff an appreciation gift along with a special message. Surprisingly, there were always some individuals who complained about the gift. It wasn't to their taste, not big or expensive enough, and so on. At such moments, you question whether the effort is worth it. But then, you also need to consider the positive feedback you receive - testimonies from those who felt encouraged, filled with new hope, and appreciated by the monthly appreciation messages and gifts.

This is precisely what Paul refers to in the passage - never getting tired of doing good. He advises us not to let fatigue set in as we continue to do good, assuring us that at the right time, we will reap a harvest of blessings if we don't give up.

Isn't this true in life? We can easily be influenced by those who fail to appreciate our good deeds, leading us to contemplate giving up. However, our focus should not be on those who don't appreciate our efforts, but rather on those we positively influence - the people whose lives are impacted by our good works. Remember, your acts of kindness can have a life-changing effect on others. So, keep on doing good.

Galatians 6:10(NLT) says: Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.

This means that we must be intentional and deliberate in being a blessing to those around us, whenever the opportunity arises. Let us choose to be a blessing always.

Lastly, remember Ephesians 2:10(NLT) For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.

I conclude: Don't get tired of doing good.
