DAY 7 — Rest in His Love
Scripture: Zephaniah 3:17 (NIV) “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”
Focus Thought: Intimacy is strengthened when we rest in God’s delight.
Many people relate to God through effort, striving, or performance, yet Zephaniah 3:17 reveals a very different picture. God is not distant or disappointed. He is present, powerful, and deeply affectionate toward His people. He does not merely tolerate you—He delights in you.
Resting in God’s love means allowing this truth to settle into your heart. God’s delight is not earned through good behaviour or spiritual effort; it flows from His covenant love. When we stop striving to impress Him and begin to rest in His affection, our relationship with God moves from pressure to peace.
God’s love quiets our fears and silences self-accusation. He rejoices over us with singing—not because we are perfect, but because we belong to Him. As we receive His love, intimacy deepens, trust grows, and our hearts find rest in the assurance that we are fully known and fully loved.
Action for Today: As you end your day, take a few moments to thank God for His nearness and affection. Allow yourself to rest in the truth that He delights in you.
Prayer: Father, thank You that You are with me and that You delight in me. Help me to rest in Your love and to receive Your joy over my life. Quiet my heart and let Your presence bring peace and assurance. Amen.
Reflection Question: What aspect of God’s love became most real to you today?
Journal Prompt: Write about how you experienced God’s love today. What words, moments, or thoughts helped you rest more deeply in His delight over you?
WEEKLY DECLARATION
I draw near to God, and He draws near to me. His Presence is my home. His voice is my guide.
His Word is my food. His love is my rest. I choose intimacy — and He reveals His heart to me.
Weekly outward application:
Prepare 10 notes or cards in advance. Choose sentences and scriptures from this week’s reflections. For example, “God desires Fellowship with you. Take some time to sit with Him today” or “Pour out your heart before the Lord today. Tell Him what is troubling you or what your heart desires. He is listening”
As you go about your day or maybe specifically ask the Lord where you must go, let the Holy Spirit show you the 10 people that need these encouragements towards intimacy with Him. No need to say anything more to them, just hand them the card and be on your way. Unless you feel you need to say something more.
