*Kiss the Son *

Psalm 2 is a Psalm of David that presents two contrasting ways, similar to Psalm 1 - the way of human rebellion versus the way of submission to God.

While reading Psalm 2, verse 12 especially stood out to me. It says: Psalm 2:12(AMP) Kiss (pay respect to) the Son, so that He does not become angry, and you perish in the way, For His wrath may soon be kindled and set aflame. How blessed are all those who take refuge in Him!

The phrase kiss the Son holds importance, both in its original context and in its significant implication referring to the coming Christ. In its original context, kiss the Son suggests an act of submission or obedience. This respect was meant not only for Israel’s kings but also for the forthcoming King of all kings, Jesus.

This phrase signifies submission to the Lord. Various translations shed light on this phrase, the NLT renders it as: Submit to God’s royal son, the CEV as: Show respect to his son, ERV says: Show that you are loyal to his son, GNT has: and bow down to him, MSG interprets as: Kiss Messiah! and NIRV goes with: Obey the son completely.

The verse concludes with: How blessed are all those who take refuge in Him!

Today, let us submit, show respect, bow to, and obey the KING of all kings, Jesus. Doing so invites God's blessing over our lives.

Have a blessed day.
