Good day

2 Timothy 2:15 (ESV) “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth”

Paul urges Timothy to view himself as a worker seeking to please God. Any worker or servant should desire to satisfy the expectations of his or her master. Timothy was to view his work for God in the same way. He was not serving to please other people, but to please the Lord. Timothy's challenge is not only to be approved, but to be a worker "who has no need to be ashamed.”

What ever we do, we must do it as if we are doing it for the Lord. We must do our best.

Colossians 3:22-25 (MSG) “Servants, do what you’re told by your earthly masters. And don’t just do the minimum that will get you by. Do your best. Work from the heart for your real Master, for God, confident that you’ll get paid in full when you come into your inheritance. Keep in mind always that the ultimate Master you’re serving is Christ. The sullen servant who does shoddy work will be held responsible. Being a follower of Jesus doesn’t cover up bad work.”

Proverbs 13:4 (ESV) “The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied."

Everything we do, we must do it to the glory of God.

1 Corinthians 10:31 (ESV) “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”

Proverbs 10:4-5 (MSG) “4 Sloth makes you poor; diligence brings wealth. 5 Make hay while the sun shines—that’s smart; go fishing during harvest—that’s stupid.”

Never grow weary of doing good, at the right time we will reap.

Galatians 6:9 (AMP) “Let us not grow weary or become discouraged in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give in.”

Ecclesiastes 11:6 (NLT) “Plant your seed in the morning and keep busy all afternoon, for you don’t know if profit will come from one activity or another—or maybe both.”

William McRaven once said: “I sometimes fell short of being the best, but I never fell short of giving it my best.”

Today, give your best to God.
