Christmas says you are not on your own

Jesus came so that we could have direction every day! He still speaks through His Word, leading and directing us by His Holy Spirit.

Matthew 1:19-20 (AMP) “And Joseph her husband, being a just and righteous man and not wanting to expose her publicly to shame, planned to send her away and divorce her quietly. 20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, descendant of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 2:13 (NKJV) Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him.” Matthew 2:19-23 (NKJV) Now when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, 20 saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, and go to the land of Israel, for those who sought the young Child’s life are dead.” 21 Then he arose, took the young Child and His mother, and came into the land of Israel. 22 But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea instead of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And being warned by God in a dream, he turned aside into the region of Galilee. 23 And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, “He shall be called a Nazarene.”

In these passages we clearly see how God led Joseph. The story of Jesus coming to this world clearly shows us that God wants to give us direction. Jesus come to this world not only to forgive our sins, but to direct us. As part of Christmas, we must celebrate the gift of Jesus’ guidance.

1 Thessalonians 3:11 (NKJV) “Now may our God and Father Himself, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way to you.”

John 10:27 (NKJV) “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”

2 Corinthians 4:6 (ESV) “For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”

God has spoken into our hearts and taken away our deafness and caused us to hear in the gospel the voice of the risen, living Christ. So, God opens the eyes of the heart and he opens the ears of the heart so that the beautiful glory of Christ is seen, and the voice of Jesus is heard.

Hebrews 13:5b (NKJV) “For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Jesus promises us that once he has left this world, we will not be alone, but he will send us the Holy Spirit to guide us.

John 14:26 (ESV) “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”
