12 October MARK 9

There are no ‘ifs’ among Believers

Mark 9:21-23(MSG) He asked the boy’s father, “How long has this been going on?” “Ever since he was a little boy. Many times it pitches him into fire or the river to do away with him. If you can do anything, do it. Have a heart and help us!” Jesus said, “If? There are no ‘ifs’ among believers. Anything can happen.”If you can do anything, do it. The if here creates a feeling that maybe Jesus can heal the boy. If you can do anything, do it. Then there is this possibility: Have a heart and help us. A cry for help, a cry that maybe Jesus can do it. It sounds like the if was fading away, and the if was replaced with help, a sign of some faith. But then, Jesus makes it very clear that there are no “ifs” among believers; anything can happen. He takes away all doubt. Then this beautiful prayer Mark 9:24(MSG) No sooner were the words out of his mouth than the father cried, “Then I believe. Help me with my doubts!”Jesus immediately goes into action after the doubts have been removed. There are no “ifs” anymore.Mark 9:25-27(MSG) Seeing that the crowd was forming fast, Jesus gave the vile spirit its marching orders: “Dumb and deaf spirit, I command you—Out of him, and stay out!” Screaming, and with much thrashing about, it left. The boy was pale as a corpse, so people started saying, “He’s dead.” But Jesus, taking his hand, raised him. The boy stood up.God is the God of the impossible; there is no if with Him; He is the God of signs, miracles and wonders. Remove all your “ifs” today and replace it with certainties: God can do it. Luke 1:37(AMP) For with God nothing shall be impossible.”Matthew 19:26(AMP) But Jesus looked at them and said, “With people it is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”Jeremiah 32:27(AMP) “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh; is there anything too difficult for Me?”Genesis 18:14a(AMP) Is anything too difficult or too wonderful for the LORD?I conclude with: “No situation is beyond God’s reach, because there is no place He cannot reach.” ― Gift Gugu
