12 February Hebrews 13

The Lord is my Helper

Hebrews 13:5b-6(NLT) For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” So we can say with confidence, “The LORD is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”

Verse 6 begins, So that can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear…. In other words, since it is true that God will never leave or forsake us, that means God is with us. He’s on our side, and He’s with us to help us! We can have confidence in that!

Psalm 54:4(NLT) But God is my helper. The Lord keeps me alive!

Psalm 54:4-5(MSG) Oh, look! God’s right here helping! GOD’S on my side, Evil is looping back on my enemies. Don’t let up! Finish them off!

Isaiah 41:10(NIV) So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Psalm 94:16-19(MSG) Who stood up for me against the wicked? Who took my side against evil workers? If GOD hadn’t been there for me, I never would have made it. The minute I said, “I’m slipping, I’m falling,” your love, GOD, took hold and held me fast. When I was upset and beside myself, you calmed me down and cheered me up.

In troubled times we may begin to think that God doesn’t care or has forsaken us, but that’s not true. If we’ve trusted Christ as our Saviour, He promises never to desert or abandon us. No matter how we may feel, God is always with us.

Psalm 34:7-8(NLT) For the angel of the LORD is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear him. Taste and see that the LORD is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!

Psalm 34:17-19(NLT)The LORD hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. The righteous person faces many troubles, but the LORD comes to the rescue each time.

God always supports us during our toughest times. He lights up our lives and guides us, so we won't trip or fall. He is aware of us and our struggles; nothing is secret from Him.

We shouldn't quit when life is difficult, and we can't see a solution. God is silently helping us in ways we can't see. He helps us to overcome huge obstacles and breaks down barriers with His power. He won't let down those who believe in Him.
