Run to God

The Message translation of Psalm 11:1-2a(MSG) states: I’ve already run for dear life straight to the arms of God. So why would I run away now when you say, ‘Run to the mountains;

What a profound declaration by David in this Psalm: I have already run for life straight to the arms of God. This statement underscores David's unwavering belief that the only safe haven is in the embrace of God. T he Living Bible interprets Psalm 11:1(TLB) in this way: How dare you tell me, ‘Flee to the mountains for safety,’ when I am trusting in the Lord?

David further elaborates in Psalm 11:4(MSG): But GOD hasn’t moved to the mountains; his holy address hasn’t changed. He’s in charge, as always, his eyes taking everything in.

David understands where to find God. He is aware that trusting in God is the path to divine presence. In tumultuous times, we too can seek solace in God's embrace. When we place our faith in Him, we will always find Him waiting.

The concluding verse of this Psalm, Psalm 11:7(MSG), reads: GOD’s business is putting things right; he loves getting the lines straight, Setting us straight. Once we’re standing tall, we can look him straight in the eye.

God is in the business of redemption: saving souls, mending the hearts of the wounded, rejuvenating relationships, assisting during trying times, and realigning paths. He delights in these acts. Setting us straight – yet He awaits His devoted followers to come to Him directly. Once we do, we find ourselves empowered, able to gaze upon Him, and confident in His care.

I'd like to conclude with a quote from www.Jollynotes.com – “Dear Friends, Run to God when you’re happy, Run to God when you’re hurt. Run to God when life gets weary, Run to God when you’re full of energy. Run to God when you question, when you doubt, and when you fear.Run to God when you need wisdom, or when you need anything at all! Please don’t run away from God, RUN TO GOD! He is always there.
