1 Timothy 1:18-19(MSG) I’m passing this work on to you, my son Timothy. The prophetic word that was directed to you prepared us for this. All those prayers are coming together now so you will do this well, fearless in your struggle, keeping a firm grip on your faith and on yourself. After all, this is a fight we’re in. There are some, you know, who by relaxing their grip and thinking anything goes have made a thorough mess of their faith.
1 Chronicles 14:11(NASB) “So they came up to Baal-perazim, and David defeated them there; and David said, “God has broken through my enemies by my hand, like the breakthrough of waters.”
What is the meaning of breakthrough of water? The image is of flooding waters breaking through a dam, as David’s troops broke through the Philistine assault. You can’t generate a breakthrough. A breakthrough is when God generates a wave and sends it in your direction, and you ride that wave onto dry ground and a higher level of living in your life.
Like a breakthrough of water, God sends waves into your life. Waves that will smash walls that have been built up in front of you. A breakthrough creates momentum - a new and fresh direction. And the longer it is, the bigger it gets. It snowballs, starting out the size of a tennis ball. When you start rolling a ball of snow, the size of a tennis ball, down a long snow-covered mountain slope, the ball picks up more and more snow as it rolls down the slope until it becomes a boulder size ball of snow capable of creating lots of change. This is what God is going to do in your life. Explosive breakthroughs will come in your life as you continue to lift the name of Jesus. Breakthroughs bring the favour of God on your life, which releases His plans for you. Soon, your doors will swing open, chains will fall off, and those standing by will marvel at your life. When we become a testimony of God's faithfulness during painful transitions, not only are we blessed, but others will observe our breakthroughs and will be touched by our release. Desperation will prompt them to ask, as the jailer did: What must I do to be saved?
Get ready! Because Pharaoh and his Egyptians are not just going to let you go. They are going to load you up with all their silver and gold … clothing. The word of God says of His people when they came out of Egypt: When you come out – You shall not go empty. It also says that there was not a weak one among them.
Exodus 12:35-36(NLT) And the people of Israel did as Moses had instructed; they asked the Egyptians for clothing and articles of silver and gold. The LORD caused the Egyptians to look favorably on the Israelites, and they gave the Israelites whatever they asked for. So they stripped the Egyptians of their wealth!
Set your heart in expectation for all that God has in store for your life, know that God is good – He is for you and not against you with plans that far exceed what you can comprehend. Agree with God. Merge that agreement with actions that reflect that you are pursuing Him with the whole heart and look out, with expectation, for the breakthroughs that He has in store for your life!
