God cares about you
Numbers 26:1-4 (NIV) “After the plague the Lord said to Moses and Eleazar son of Aaron, the priest, “Take a census of the whole Israelite community by families—all those twenty years old or more who are able to serve in the army of Israel.” So on the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho, Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them and said, “Take a census of the men twenty years old or more, as the Lord commanded Moses.”
At the end of their time in the wilderness, God told His people to count everyone carefully in a census. This counting shows that God loves His people and watches over them, just like a good shepherd watches over his sheep.
Jesus loves you, too, and is always watching over you. You are important to Him, and He cares about you. Matthew 10:26-31 (AMP) “So do not be afraid of them, for nothing is hidden that will not be revealed [at the judgment], or kept secret that will not be made known [at the judgment]. What I say to you in the dark (privately), tell in the light (publicly); and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim from the housetops [to many people]. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; but rather be afraid of Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two little sparrows sold for a [a]copper coin? And yet not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered [for the Father is sovereign and has complete knowledge]. So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.
The Psalmist confirms in Psalm 37:23-25 (AMP) “The steps of a [good and righteous] man are directed and established by the Lord, And He delights in his way [and blesses his path]. When he falls, he will not be hurled down, Because the Lord is the One who holds his hand and sustains him. I have been young and now I am old, Yet I have not seen the righteous (those in right standing with God) abandoned Or his descendants pleading for bread”. I include Psalm 56:8 (NLT) “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book”.
In conclusion, the message throughout Scripture is clear: God cares deeply for you and always watches over you. Just as He commanded Moses to count every individual in the wilderness, God keeps track of each of His people, knowing them intimately like a shepherd knows his sheep.
Jesus reminds us not to fear, for we are precious in God's eyes, more valuable than sparrows, and even the hairs on our heads are numbered by Him. He sees your struggles, your pains, and even your tears. As Psalm 56:8 expresses, God has collected every tear and recorded it, showing just how deeply He cares for every aspect of your life.
No matter what you face, know that God is with you, guiding your steps, holding your hand, and sustaining you through every difficulty. You are not forgotten, and you are never alone. His care for you is constant, personal, and full of love. Trust in Him, for He is always nearby.
