5 March 2022 - We are chosen – part 3

We are a chosen race. The chosen race are people who accepted Jesus as their living hope.

1 Peter 2:9 (ESV) “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”

1 Peter 1:3 (ESV) “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead?

Being chosen by God means being destined for everlasting living.

Ephesians 1:4-6 (NIV) “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. 5 In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.”

Being chosen means that God will do whatever is needed to bring us to Him. 2 Timothy 2:10-13 (MSG) “Fix this picture firmly in your mind: Jesus, descended from the line of David, raised from the dead. It’s what you’ve heard from me all along. It’s what I’m sitting in jail for right now—but God’s Word isn’t in jail! That’s why I stick it out here—so that everyone God calls will get in on the salvation of Christ in all its glory. This is a sure thing: If we die with him, we’ll live with him; If we stick it out with him, we’ll rule with him; If we turn our backs on him, he’ll turn his back on us; If we give up on him, he does not give up— for there’s no way he can be false to himself.”

Because you are chosen, God has shape history on your behalf. The flow of history will be altered. For the sake of the chosen ones.

Matthew 24:22 (ESV) “And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.”

Being chosen by God means that Jesus will came back for you.

Matthew 24:31 (ESV) “And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”

Luke 18:7 (ESV) “And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them?”

Revelation 17:14 (ESV) “They will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.”
