DAY 2 — We Reflect the Lord’s Glory

2 Corinthians 3:18 (NIV) "And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit."

Focus Thought: One of the greatest truths in the Christian life is that you become like what you continually behold.

Paul tells us that as we contemplate the Lord's glory, we are transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory. This means that transformation is not produced primarily through striving, self-effort, or religious performance. Transformation happens through relationship and exposure to God's presence.

The more time you spend with Jesus, the more you begin to resemble Him. This principle works naturally in every area of life. People often begin to adopt the attitudes, language, habits, and values of those with whom they spend the most time. In the same way, believers who spend time in God's presence gradually begin to reflect His nature.

Hosting the presence of God is not merely about experiencing God, it is about being changed by Him. Many people approach God's presence asking: "What can I receive?" But a deeper question is: "What is God wanting to transform in me?"

Every encounter with God is intended to make us more like Jesus. When you spend time beholding His love, you become more loving. When you spend time beholding His humility, you become more humble. When you spend time beholding His patience, you become more patient. When you spend time beholding His holiness, you become more holy. Transformation is the natural result of sustained exposure to God's presence. Paul uses the phrase "ever-increasing glory." This reminds us that spiritual growth is a journey. God does not transform us instantly into the image of Christ. He works progressively, layer by layer, season by season.

Some days the change feels slow and almost invisible. Yet God is continually shaping your heart, renewing your mind, and refining your character.

Hosting God's presence requires consistency. A single encounter can change your direction, but a lifestyle of God's presence changes your character. Moses spent so much time in God's presence that his face literally reflected God's glory.

Today, the glory of God is reflected through transformed lives. People should be able to see Jesus in us: In the way we speak. In the way we love. In the way we forgive. In the way we serve. In the way we respond under pressure.

The greatest testimony is not simply what God has done for you, it is who you are becoming because of Him. God's goal is not merely that you experience His glory. His goal is that you reflect His glory. The more you behold Him, the more you become like Him. And the more you become like Him, the more the world sees His beauty through your life.

Romans 8:29 (NIV) For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

God's ultimate purpose is not simply to bless you but to transform you into the likeness of Jesus.

Action for Today: Spend a few quiet moments reflecting on the character of Jesus. Read one Gospel passage and focus on one aspect of His nature that stands out to you.

Reflection Question: What part of Christ's character did you reflect most clearly today?

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to keep my eyes fixed on You. As I spend time in Your presence, transform me into Your image. Let Your love, humility, compassion, and holiness be seen in my life. May others encounter You through me. Amen.
