Sit in the place of honor at my right
Psalm 110:1(NLT) The LORD said to my Lord, “Sit in the place of honor at my right hand until I humble your enemies, making them a footstool under your feet.”
Throughout Scripture, the right hand of God is the place of heavenly authority and sovereign power. In this scripture, Jesus is revealed as the one who sits at the right hand of God.
Matthew 22:44(ESV) “‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I put your enemies under your feet”’
Mark 12:35-37(ESV) And as Jesus taught in the temple, he said, “How can the scribes say that the Christ is the son of David? David himself, in the Holy Spirit, declared, “‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I put your enemies under your feet.” David himself calls him Lord. So how is he his son?” The great throng heard him gladly.
God will then put all of Jesus’ enemies under His feet. Hebrews 1:13(ESV) And to which of the angels has he ever said, “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet?”
In this Psalm, David predicts the victory of Jesus Christ over all His enemies and the glory He will receive. Jesus voluntarily submitted Himself to God and took on the role of a servant. In return, God has exalted Jesus' name, Philippians 2:10-11(ESV) so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
At the cross, Jesus stripped the enemy and made him a footstool under His feet.
I, therefore, conclude with Colossians 2:14-15(MSG) All sins forgiven, the slate wiped clean, that old arrest warrant canceled and nailed to Christ’s cross. He stripped all the spiritual tyrants in the universe of their sham authority at the Cross and marched them naked through the streets.
