There is no other name by which we can be saved
In Psalms 48:10(TPT) we read: The fame of your name echoes throughout the entire world, accompanied by praises. Your right hand is full of victory.
And in Psalm 113:3(ESV) From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the LORD is to be praised!
According to Acts 4:12(ESV) And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.
God has bestowed a name that is for everyone under heaven. Herein lies God’s purpose, God’s desire, for giving this universal name: His people must be saved. God chose to embody salvation in the syllables of this name. The angel told Mary, as recorded in
Matthew 1:21(ESV) She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.
This name was not sent into the world to condemn it, but so that the world might be saved through it. John 3:17(ESV) affirms: For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Thus, in Jesus, we find the only name that can save.
Malachi 1:11(ESV) prophesy: For from the rising of the sun to its setting my name will be great among the nations, and in every place incense will be offered to my name, and a pure offering. For my name will be great among the nations, says the LORD of hosts.
There is no other name given among men by which we must be saved. And indeed, what a glorious name it is, the name of Jesus.
